As a general protocol, this is the default service I provide. Ranging from 60 minutes (1 hr) up to 120 minutes (2 hrs), Redox Detox includes a combination of two or more of the massage techniques described below and may or may not be instrument-assisted. This is decided depending on my assessment of your needs and considering what you decide to communicate to me about your goals/concerns for your body. Each session is tailored to fit your needs in the moment. If you are in need of a specific technique, please make sure to communicate this to me so I can plan your session accordingly.
This strategy uses precise neuromuscular therapy (NMT) and myofascial release (MFR) techniques to reintroduce hydration, pliability, and responsiveness to restricted tissues, especially those causing pain or limiting functional movement patterns. A selection of myofascial scraping tools may be used to assist in restoring pliability to hardened tissues. This is a great strategy to help prime the body for better movement.
Stimulation of the lymphatic system using light to medium pressure helps to balance fluids in the body by encouraging waste and excess fluid to enter the drainage pathways, which the body eventually eliminates on its own. Ultimately, this strategy is intended to boost the immune system, support hormonal balance, and encourage gut motility leading to improved nutrient absorption. It can be especially helpful for those with autoimmune conditions, hormonal issues, and gut issues. This is also a great form of recovery after exercise, especially when combined with a deep tissue strategy. Body sculpting techniques may also be included depending on goals/needs. An assortment of different tools is typically used to aid in this process, including myofascial scraping tools, gua sha tools, and/or cupping tools.
The primary focus of this strategy is to help reset the nervous system by using calming touch to increase parasympathetic tone. This strategy can be very useful on its own for those who are stuck in survival mode and requires a gentle and nurturing approach to promote full relaxation of the body and mind.
Facial lymphatic drainage techniques are used to help clean and drain excess waste fluids and water retention in the face. Restricted muscles and fascia in the neck oftentimes impede natural drainage of the face, so this may be addressed using deeper techniques prior to any work on the face. Buccal massage may also be included to address any TMJ (jaw) pain/tension. Face sculpting techniques are the finishing touch to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a refreshed and lifted look.
Special considerations are taken into account for women who are pregnant or may possibly be pregnant. Pregnant women can benefit from this strategy at any stage of their pregnancy, so long as she feels comfortable receiving the work. Lymphatic drainage techniques may be used to help reduce any swelling, which is a typical bodily response during pregnancy. Deep tissue techniques may also be used, in the appropriate context, to help relieve any pain/tension.
This strategy is designed to support the healing process that takes place immediately after childbirth and generally lasts up to 6-8 weeks. Lymphatic drainage techniques are heavily relied upon to help drain the body of any excess fluid and inflammation, and to help speed up the healing process of any scars from the birthing process, including surgery. Healed surgery scars are encouraged to maintain pliability for optimal circulation using cross-fiber techniques, typically with the use of a scraping tool and/or dynamic cupping.
